Writing

Lindel Hart has written for numerous publications and media outlets, contributing feature articles and arts reviews for In Pittsburgh and The New Art Examiner. He also served as on-air film critic for WQED-FM’s weekly program, Sunday Arts Magazine, for several years. Most recently, he began writing cocktail features for TABLE, a magazine and website exploring culinary, design, and culturally rich topics.

Lindel has also written for live performance and film. His adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, in which he also portrayed the Creature, was commissioned by Eggtooth Productions for performances in an abandoned bank building in Greenfield, MA; the Springfield (MA) Museums; the Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, MA; and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (Scotland).

Current projects include:

  • You’re Not From Around Here, Are You? (working title) A solo theatre piece that examines how family history, time, the people in our lives, and location impact identity.
  • Savage, a musical based on the life of Native American sharpshooter, vaudevillian, and silent film actress Wanda Savage. Lindel is co-writing the book of this new musical, which is inching its way toward an eventual professional production.
